Om natten är allt blod svart utgår från erfarenheten hos en senegalesisk soldat som stred för kolonialmakten Frankrike under Första världskriget. Boken belönades med International Booker Prize 2021, och har fått flera andra prestigefyllda priser. David Diop (f. 1966) är en fransk författare och akademiker. Han specialiserar sig på fransk och frankofon litteratur från 1700-talet, bland annat hur Afrika framställdes i reseskildringar från den tiden. Hans första bok 1889, l’Attraction universelle kom 2012. Romanen handlar om elva personer som var del av den senegalesiska delegationen på Världsutställningen i Paris. Om natten är allt blod svart är Diops internationella genombrott.

Detta var en bok i Världen runt läsprojektet. Och nu blev även Senegal avbokad från listan av länder att läsa en bok från.

En ovanligare historia från Europas kolonisation av Afrika, med krigsskildring från första världskrighet.

Då var det så synd att jag inte gillade den så mycket, för den kunde ha varit bättre. Det fanns delar av berättelsen som gav mig mycket medans annat bara var inget som engagerade mig alls.

Manga jag läst första kvartalet 2025

Jag har läst några manga det här första kvartalet och jag tänkte att jag slår ihop mins recensioner av dem i ett inlägg. Det är flera av e serier jag redan har/håller på att läsa som jag läst vidare i. En ny påbörjad. Och de flesta gillar jag de har fått tre av fem i betyg allihop förutom Spyxfamily och den sista som har fått 4 av fem möjliga.
