Manga jag läste under April / 2025

 Jag känner som om de olika fysiska Manga böcker jag läser att jag inte vill göra enskilda inlägg för varje en utan att jag gör sådana här sammanfattnigar. Och nu har jag läst en hel del under april så jag gör en för månaden.

Spring is in the air, and with spring comes break! Betyg 5 (och orsaken till att den får så högt betyg är att den hade mycket mer humor än vad jag minns från de tidigare delarna. Och jag gillar att läsa om alla olika karaktärerna den vita draken och även flera av hennes andra medresenärer på äventyret de är på är sådana härliga personligheter och hur de bemöter varandra gör det till en härlig läsning.)

I början av förra året läste jag första delen i den här serien och var inte så förtjust i den. Så jag funderade på att jag inte skulle läsa mer ur serien. Men nu är jag glad att när jag såg att biblioteket hade den lånade den för att läsa den.

För den här delen var mycket bättre än förra. Och jag blev faktiskt glad och överraskad av hur mycket jag uppskattade att möta Emily, Wendel och Emilys hund som jag nu inte kommer på vad den heter igen.

Och den här handlingen var roligare att läsa om än den förra och spänningen hölls upp. Och bokomslaget är lika vackert som på förra delen.

Nu kan jag mycket väl tänka mig att läsa nästa del i serien. 

Wendigons förbannesle (Monsterumlogen #2) av Rick Yancey

 så jar mär mer anöjd att boken ä rs

Sent på kvällen dyker en kvinna upp hemma hos Monstrumologen. Hon bönar och ber doktorn om hjälp. Hennes make John Chanler är spårlöst försvunnen i den kanadensiska vildmarken, dit han begett sig på jakt efter en mytomspunnen, fruktad, livsfarlig varelse: Wendigon.

Doktor Warthrop anser att Wendigons förbannelse är ren vidskeplighet, men han och Will Henry beger sig ändå ut i marker- na för att leta efter doktorns försvunne vän.

Och även om de är så säkra på sin sak beträffande Wendigon-myten, ställs de snart inför frågan: Vad är det som härjar i dessa skogar? Och vad har John Chanler egentligen råkat ut för?

Wendigons förbannelse är den andra boken i den hyllade Monstrumologen-serien, som kombinerar H. P. Lovecrafts viktorianska skräckteman med Rick Riordans berättarförmåga.

Jag läste första delen ur denna serie för några år sen för att kunna läsa denna som jag fick som ett recensions expempar, men sen blev den här delen inte läst.

Fast nu har jag läst den, och jag lite kluvna tankar om den, visst jag gillar handlingen lite grann när jag läser men jag fastnsar inte riktigt för berättelsen och när boken är slut saknar jag inte karkaktärerna som jag kan gör efter att ha läst ut andra böcker.

Under förra året hörde jag talas om den här boken från flera olika booktubers, så mycket att jag bestämde mig för att köpa den under Black Friday. Sen när jag skulle välja en bok att läsa så föll valet på den, efter att ha sett den som en av Alice (the book castle booktubekanal) favoritböcker från förra året.

Jag har haft en rätt så bra läsupplevelse med boken, även om den inte kan klassas som en favoritbok från min sida, men den var tillräckligt underhållande att jag vill läsa fortsättningen någon gång. Det var även så bra att man behöver egentligen inte läsa den för den här delen slutade rätt bra och det finns inga frågetecken kvar. Så det är fristående delar i den här serien.

Jag håller på att fortsätta att lyssna på andras favoritböcker från det gågna året och just den här boken är det Heather från Bookables som angett som en favoritbok från 2022, sen har jag ju hört talas om boken från andra och hade mina ögon/öron öppna för den redan innan jag valde att lyssna på den.

Jag gillar det mystiska i deras familjearv som de måste försöka förstå sig på, alltså att det är lite magi inblandad i berättelsen. Sen får vi även Orquideas historia berättad parallellt med de överlevnade familjemedlemmarna försöker förstå sig på sitt arv.och jag ska säga att jag gillade att lyssna på den.

Den här boken ingår även i Kaosutmaningen #20 -  med en bok där titel eller författarnamn ska innehålla bokstaven Q.

Detta var verkligen ett bra avslut på denna trilogi, jag har egentligen inte tyckt om den förrän i denna del, gillade handlingen vad som hände och alla svar vi fick om alla karaktärer etc. Ser nu verkligen framemot att läsa mera ur Shadowhunters-sfären för jag är väldigt nyfiken på hur allt hänger ihop speciellt efter denna boks epilog.

Det här var en bok jag hade hört mycket bra om, så jag var intresserad av att läsa den för den innehöll flera saker som är sådana som gör att jag brukar gilla att läsa om dem, paranormala fenomen, spöken etc.

Tyvärr så var det lite för mycket information i boken om personer och händelser som inte hörde till just huvudberättelsen, så det drog bort intresset från det som var det aktuella i denna bok. Flera händelser och karaktärer presenterades och hade inget med denna boks handling att göra, förstår tanken från författaren att hon ville introducera intresse för hela serien. Fast bortsett från det gör det ju ändå så att jag är intresserad att fortsätta läsa serien för att se vad som komma skall, med några av karaktärerna som har presenteras.

Gillar dock mordmysteriet med spökliga och synska vibbar som är huvudhandlingen i denna bok och jag gillar en del av karaktärerna även om en är lite irriterande i vissa scener i boken.

Denna har jag hört en hel del gott om från olika booktubers som läst den, så jag valde den till readathonen MakeYourMythTaker för en 5 stjärnbetygs förutsägelse och FantasyAthon för en hype train fantasy.

Tyvärr motsvarade den inte helt förväntningarna den fick bara en 3 av 5 stjärnor av mig i betyg, men det säger inte att det var en intressant historia att läsa som baseras på Maya-indianernas mytologi och utspelar sig i en 1920-tals Mexico, så det är verkligen en ovanlig bakgrund historien utspelar sig i. Jag har svårt att motivera varför den bara fick en 3 men det är så jag känner just nu och när jag läste den, även om Casopeia och de andra karaktärerna var intressanta att läsa om. Sen är det även ibland skönt att läsa en fristående roman speciellt då många fantasy-berättelser kan bli alltför långa serier av.
